‘I am open to offers’

25/08/2016

Ever since Saif Ali Khan announced that his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan is expecting, there have been numerous reports about her pregnancy affecting prospective films. Recently, it was reported that the Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar starrer, Veere Di Wedding, might no longer feature Kareena, though the makers later confirmed that the film would very much retain her presence.
On the other hand, director Rohit Shetty was heard saying that he finds it odd to approach Kareena for Golmaal 4 due to her pregnancy. When asked about it at an event held on Monday, Kareena said, “I think those who have a role for me will come to me, pregnant or not. And why should he (Rohit) be scared? I should be scared of him.” Rohit had also mentioned that Kareena might only feature in a special song in the film. However, Kareena stated that she is “not even thinking of that right now.”
The actress also asserted that she will be going on with her regular work and will sign films during her pregnancy, if the role seems suitable. “I will definitely go on with my normal life. I am a working woman and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I love my job and I am very passionate about it.” In a tone of slight exaggeration, she added with a smile, “Jab se apni maa ke pet mein thi, tabse main acting karna chahti thi (Since the time I was in my mother’s womb, I’ve wanted to act). I will continue to act all my life. If there is a role for me, why should I not do it?” she said.
The only film Kareena has signed so far is Veere Di Wedding. When asked if the makers are planning to hide her baby bump, the actress said, “I am not going to camouflage anything. I am proud of the phase I am in, there’s nothing to hide. Whichever film I choose to do will see me the way I am. Right now, we are still working on a schedule, It all depends on how I feel.”
