Youth commits suicide in Jammu

Jammu, Sept 24: A 23-year-old youth today allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Bishnah area here, police said.
Rakesh Kumar committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in his native village Soungli, they said.
"A case has been registered and investigations initiated," said a police spokesperson, adding that the body has been sent for postmortem.
In another incident, a 25-year-old youth allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge but was saved by the locals here today.
"Robin Kumar jumped off the Tawi Bridge this morning, but was saved by the local people and rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital where his condition is stated to be out of danger," the police spokesperson said.
