Every seed has something different to provide to the body- from pomegranate, hemp to chia. But it is important to know which ones deliver health benefits before choosing to have one.

Chia for strong bones: Taking good care of your bones is important, especially as you age. This earthy-tasting seed, which is rich in calcium, is beneficial for your bone health. Two tablespoons offer as much as a slice of cheddar! Mix half a cup with two and a half cups of unsweetened almond milk, one tablespoon maple syrup and cinnamon to taste, and chill for a tapioca like pudding.
Pumpkin for energy: The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends pumpkin seeds consumption as a good way to obtain its nutrients. This light and nutty pepita houses iron, a mineral that helps maintain high energy levels. Roast one cup of seeds with half a tablespoon each of paprika, chili powder and sea salt for an easy to-go snack.
Sesame for a healthy heart: Sesame seeds contains linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid that may help control harmful cholesterol. Toasting amplifies flavour and adds a nice crunch to salads.
Flax for cancer prevention: There is some evidence that flaxseeds may help reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. Though it contains all sorts of healthy components, it is well-known for these cancer-thwarting compounds- lignans and omega-3 fatty acids that reduce disease-causing inflammation.
