IGP Jammu reviews law & order, security arrangements on the opening of Darbar move

Jammu, Oct 27: Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Jammu (IGP), Mr Danesh Rana- IPS, presides over a meeting of Jammu based Police officers to review the security and law & order and present prevailing security scenario in view of Darbar move to winter Capital.
IGP Jammu, Mr Danesh Rana, briefed the officers about the scheduled dates of Darbar move and movement of employees/Convoy from Srinagar Jammu and steps required to be taken to maintian vigil and active our security and law and order handling machinery in view of the escalation going on IB/LO. He also briefed the officers about the deployment required to be made on the eve of opening of darbar move offices at Jammu i.e. Civil Secretariat, CM Route as well as other darbar move offices/colonies/quarters located in Jammu City.
The other participating police officers also briefed the IGP Jammu Zone about the available inputs and their assessment about the security and law and order situation in Jammu region particularly district Jammu. They briefed IGP Jammu about the arrangements being made by them to enhance the security arrangements during winter capital, at Jammu.
After thread-bare discussions in the meeting following directions were given by the IGP Jammu Zone to the participants (1) To ensure enhanced security measures in District Jammu and Border area in view of the present security. (2) To ensure adequate police security Law and order arrangement in and around Civil Secretariat, adequate law and order arrangements at various Chowk, junctions and other important areas in Jammu City. The checking and frisking system at Nakas in city and its outskirts needs to be geared up and made purposeful. The nafri manning these Nakas need to be properly briefed and regularly supervised by the jurisdictional SP/SDPO concerned and make them accountable. He also directed all Zonal SsP to take special care of traffic Jams especially at Red Light points during the movement of VIPs so that during stoppage at such points, these VIPs do not become target of anti-national and anti-social elements or other unruly mobs/demonstrators.
The officers were also directed to ensure that checking of hotels and other places of lodgements be stepped up immediately particularly during peak hours and hoteliers be briefed properly so that proper record is maintained and no anti national elements under the guise of common man manages his stay in these hotels. A strict vigilance is to be maintained on floating population during the Darbar move. The officers were advised to brief their subordinates to mobilize their all resources for generation of actionable information so that any minor issues related to law and order is addressed at appropriate level and further flare up is avoid.
Besides, SP Traffic Jammu has been directed to brief the traffic staff being deployed at such points properly about their duties and how to deal during the movement of VIPs. He also advised to place adequate number of recovery vans at appropriate locations and special care be taken at the places which are subject to traffic jamming.
SP Traffic City Jammu shall co-ordinate with the SSP Jammu and workout a joint plan of Jammu city to sort out the problem of traffic jamming in Jammu city. All the stranded vehicles be cleared on HCM routes well before the movement.
He emphasised upon the officers that coming days are very crucial in view on the ongoing escalation on IB and inputs received from various agencies for which utmost alertness is required to be made to foil the nefarious designs of ANEs and their mentors.
Besides, the officer of Executive Police Jammu district, CID/CI and Traffic was attended. The meeting amongst others was attended by Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, IPS. DIG JSK Range, Varinder Sharma, IPS, SSP CID SB Jammu Sunil Gupta-IPS SSP Jammu, Sham Sunder, SSP, APCR Jammu, Ashok Sharma, SSP PCR Jammu, Romesh Angral SSP Security, Ashok Kumar- SSP SO to IGP Jammu, Tajinder Singh-IPS, SSP CID CI, Jammu, Rohit Baskotra SP Traffic Jammu, All Zonal SsP Distt. Jammu, SP Operation, Jammu, Dy.SP Civil Sectt and Dy.SP SSG Jammu.
