Normal life disrupted in Kashmir Valley

Srinagar, Dec 2: The movement of people and transport was comparatively less today in Kashmir Valley due to apprehensions of law and order problems after congregational prayers.
Officials said most shops, fuel stations and other business establishments were shut in most areas of Kashmir due to the strike called by the separatists against the civilian killings in the unrest and in support of their demand for right to self determination.
They are not expected to open today as the separatists have not announced any relaxation in the strike for today
While some public transport vehicles were plying in few areas of Srinagar the summer capital of the state, most of it was off the roads across the Valley, the officials said.
Some vendors have put up their stalls along TRC Chowk-Batamaloo axis through Lal Chowk city centre, they said.
The separatists are spearheading the ongoing agitation since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in an encounter with security forces on July 8.
The separatists have announced two full days of relaxation on Saturday and Sunday in the agitation programme.
As many as 86 people, including two cops, have been killed and several thousand others injured in the ongoing unrest in the Valley.
Around 5000 security forces personnel have also been injured in the clashes.
