Army conducts veterinary camp

Udhampur, Dec 2:Three Veterinary Aid and Rural Development Camps were organized at village Battal (Majalta), Dalsar (Ramnagar) and Bashat (Chenani) on 27 November, 29 November & 01 December 2016 respectively by the Army in collaboration with Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Udhampur and experts from College of Veterinary Sciences, Jammu. Besides free Veterinary treatment for the animals, facilities of disease diagnosis, surgical intervention, mass deworming and advise on good animal health management practices to improve the productivity of livestock was given to the farmers. The farmers were also provided with a single window opportunity where they could interact with other Rural Development Departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep husbandry and Rural Banking.
Large number of farmers and record number of over eleven thousand three hundred livestock including cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep, ponies, mules, poultry and dogs were rendered professional advise and treated in the camps. The camps were highly appreciated by the villagers.
