Sahay joins IIM Jammu as First Director

JAMMU Oct 4: Prof. B.S. Sahay joined as first Director of IIM Jammu on 4th October 2018 in presence of Deepak Kumar Mukadam, Member, Board of Governors, IIM Jammu and Director, Jaybee Steel Treators Ltd., faculty members and Chief Administrative Officer. On this occasion, Shri Mukadam said that IIM Jammu is in a project mode and would like to build a world class campus. We feel happy to have Dr. Sahay as our first Director, who has the distinction of creating IIM Raipur as an institute par excellence. We would also like to connect with society and people for growth of J & K.
Thanking the Chair-man, Board Members of IIM Jammu and Ministry of Human Resource Develo-pment, Govt. of India, Prof. Sahay said that we would like to create IIM Jammu as one of the finest business school in the country with the help and support of all stake holders including Chairman & the Board, MHRD, GoI and State Government, corporate, faculty, students and staff etc.. Prof. B.S. Sahay is an educator, researcher, transformational leader and institution builder, who sets high standards to create world class institutions with global outlook and national focus.
He was the Director of three top national level institutes in India, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, Mana-gement Deve-lopment Institute (MDI) Gurgaon and Institute of Manag-ement Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad. Prior to joining IIM Jammu, he was Advisor to the Chancellor, NMIMS University, Mum-bai.
Prof. Sahay demitted his office as Founder Direc-tor, IIM Raipur on a satisfying note after laying a very solid foundation for the tenth IIM instituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Develo-pment (MHRD), Govern-ment of India (GoI) in the year 2010. In these six and a half years, he created a world class, state-of-the-art campus and set up the systems and processes that a world class institution should possess.
He raised the Institute from scratch as a "research-based business school". Within a short span of time, IIM Raipur was ranked at 14th position in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIFR2017) ranking released by MHRD, GoI.
