Cong alleges discrimination with Jammu aspirants in JK Bank POs Prelims Exam

Jammu, May 11: Congress party has alleged huge discrimination with the candidates of Jammu region in criteria for selection in Preliminary Examination of Probation Officers (POs) of Jammu & Kashmir Bank and demanded scraping of the list released yesterday, thus paving way for re-examination.
In a joint statement issued here toady, Vikram Malhotra, President, Dist-rict Congress Committee (DCC), Jammu and S. Manjit Singh, President, District Congress Com-mittee (DCC), Samba, have expressed their serious concern over the discriminatory attitude of those at the helm of affairs in the Jammu & Kashmir Bank, who exhibited their negative approach by adopting different criteria for different districts for selection of candidates in the Preliminary Examination for Probation Officers.
Both the Congress leaders have pointed out that the J&K Bank authorities have selected the candidates from Kashmir with 42 Marks while those scoring 60 Marks in Jammu have been left out.
Further referring to the different criteria used for selection of candidates district wise in Preliminary Exami-nation, they lamented that the cut-off Marks for Jammu was 63 whereas for Srinagar it was 42, besides, for Samba and Kathua it was 56, for Udhampur it was 57, whereas for Pulwama, Baramulla and Rajouri it was 40 while for Kupwara, Anantnag, Bandipora and Kulgam it was 41, which itself is a big example of discrimination with the candidates of Jammu region by the J&K Bank.
