DFP organises awarness Programme on Mission Indradhanush at Ramban

Jammu: A day long awareness prograame was organised by the Directorate of Field Publicity at Community Hall Maitra Ramban. The programme was aimed at educating the masses about Mission Indradhanush launched by a Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare on 25th of December 2014, with the aim of expanding immunization coverage to all children across the country by the year 2020. Mission Indradhnush depicting seven colours of the rainbow targets to immunize all children against seven vaccine preventable diseases namely diphtheria, pertusis, tetnus,childhood tuberculoses, polio, hepatitis B and measles.
Deputy CMO Ramban Dr. Mohd Iqbal Bhat, BMO Batote Manzoor Hussain were prominent among other who spoke on the topic. All the speakers urged the audience to come forward to help educate people in every corner of the district about the importance of immunization of each and every child. The gathering was also made aware about the various benefits which a mother gets under (Janani shishu Suraksha Karyakarm) JSSK gets if she opts for institutional delivery. People who attended the programme were requested to compel people for institutional deliveries as it helps in reducing the maternal and infant mortality.
FPA, DFP, Vijay Matto and in-charge DFP Srinagar Sikander Querashi informed the gathering that Ramban is one of the six districts of the country which have nearly 50 % of all unvaccinated or partially vaccinated children. They stressed up on the need of taking up this noble cause in a mission mode and help people understand and come forward for the filament of the target set by the ministry of health and family welfare.
