Mayor takes stock of issues of inhabitants of migrant camp Purkhoo

Jammu Dec 28: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corpora-tion Chander Mohan Gupta today conducted an extensive tour of migrant Camp Purkhoo & took stock of the issues being faced by the inhabitants of the area.
Mayor was accompanied by Mr. Davinder Singh Bhau Deputy Commis-sioner (migrant Relief) along with his staff members, Sh. Chand ji Bhatt President Displaced persons Distt. Jammu & other prominent inhabitants of migrant Camp Purkhoo, Mr. Brahm Joti Sharma Executive Engineer (Rural), Assistant Executive Engineer along with concerned supervisory staff of Jal Shakti Deptt. Mr. Rajesh Bhagat Executive Engineer, Assis-tant Executive Engineer along with concerned supervisory staff of Public Works Deptt. Concerned Assistant Executive Engineer along with Junior Engineer of JPDCL (PDD).
Mayor went round the whole complex and interacted with the Residents of the Purkhoo migrant Camp wherein they projected charter of demands before the Mayor which includes installation of Electric poles/wires as well as LED lights in the left over areas, laying of PHE water pipes of big diameter & uninterrupted supply of drinking water.
They further told the mayor that they are facing great hardships due to damaged roads having big patholes and the garbage, filth etc often remained scattered in the open as there is no proper sanitation facility in and around the migrant camp.
Besides this, lot of difficulties are being faced by the migrant families residing here for getting relief, ration & other amenities specially meant for them by the Govt. Mayor listened to all the issues with great patience & and directed the officers accompanied with him to resolve all the genuine problems in a time bound manner and assured that he will also take up their remaining issues with the Govt. for their early redressal and also appeal to the migrant families of Purkhoo Camp to cooperate with the concerned departments, adopt the habit of segregation of dry/wet waste at their own level, do not use single used plastics and asked the Deputy Commissioner Relief (Migrant) Deptt. to engage sufficient number of S.K.C's in the area, start the door to door garbage collection from each Household of the Purkhoo Migrant camp plant more & more saplings at the vacant space for maintaining greenery and eco friendly atmosphere, so that the aim of Swacch Bharat Mission can be achieved successfully.
