Pak trying to disturb peace in Jammu, every drop of blood will be avenged: LG Sinha

JAMMU, Jul 24: Pakistan is trying to disturb peace in Jammu to hinder its progress but every drop of people's blood shed by terrorists will be avenged, Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha said on Wednesday.
The LG's remarks came in the backdrop of a series of terrorist attacks in the Jammu region over the last 45 days.
At a function, Sinha said, "Today, once again, the terrorist country of Pakistan is making efforts to disturb peace in the Jammu division. It wants to stop its progress."
"From Poonch-Rajouri to Kathua-Reasi and Doda, the families of those who want to build a bright future for themselves are being targeted. All of you should always remember that every drop of (people's) blood shed by Pakistani terrorists will definitely be avenged," he said.
Sinha said the need of the hour is to stand together against terrorism.
Underlining that Gujjars and Bakarwals are considered the first line of defence on the border, he urged people from the two communities to share information with the security forces.
"Your help is also needed to destroy the drug network. Those who support terrorism and drug smuggling do not belong to any community or caste. If action is taken against such people, then I think it should be welcomed," the LG said.
There have been 15 terror incidents in the Jammu region in the last 45 days. Ten security personnel, including two officers, and nine pilgrims were killed in these attacks and 58 people were injured.
Sinha also said that the situation will become normal within a couple of months in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said there were some people who can't digest peace and progress of J&K and they should be ready for their end.
"People of Jammu and Kashmir have already given a response to such elements and proved it time and again. ..I hope that the situation will be normal within a few months time", Sinha told media persons in Srinagar.
There has been spurt in militant attacks in Jammu and in the last one month , 11 security men and nine pilgrims have been killed in the Jammu region .
Reacting on the Union Budget, the Lt Governor said he was thankful to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for submitting a historic budget in the Parliament.
"I feel that the budget will keep a strong base for the "Viksit Bharat" and with the "Viksit Bharat" it would also put a strong base for the "Viksit Jammu and Kashmir"," he said.
"As we have already taken initiatives for farmers, youth, womenfolk and the poor of the society, the four remained the main focus of the central government's budget," Sinha added .
"The youth would get more opportunities of employment and how the womenfolk will flourish..the union budget has focused on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to improve employment.
For the overall growth of Jammu and Kashmir, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has kept a huge amount for the development to overcome all odds," the LG said.
