No respite from sweltering heat, hot & humid temp in J&K

Srinagar, Jul 25: Sweltering sun with hot and humid temperature continued to soar in Jammu and Kashmir without any respite as Srinagar & Jammu recorded 35.2°C respectively on Friday. There will be a significant fall in day temperature from July 29 onwards, the MeT office said.
There was no let up in the scorching hot and humid weather conditions that prevailed all across the Union Territory throwing the normal activities out of gear and making life miserable.
The MeT Srinagar predicted a brief spell of rain and thundershower at isolated places of Kashmir division and light to moderate rain/thundershower at scattered places of Jammu division during the next 24 hours.
On July 28 to 31, the weather is likely to turn generally cloudy with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain/thundershower at scattered to fairly widespread places of Kashmir division and widespread places of Jammu division.
The weather will remain generally cloudy with spells of intermittent light to moderate rain/thundershower at many places of Kashmir division and most places of Jammu division from August 1 to 4, the MeT office said.
There is a possibility of intense showers for a brief period with possibility of landslides/mudslides and shooting stones over few vulnerable places with possibility of heavy rainfall at few places of Jammu Division.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded the maximum temperature at 35.2°C on Friday and it was 5.3°C above normal during this period of the season. Kupwara recorded 34.7°C, Kokernag 33.1°C, Pahalgam 29.7°C and Gulmarg 25.7°C on Friday, the MeT office said. Similarly, Jammu also recorded 35.2°C, Katra 33.0°C, Bhadarwah 32.4°C, Banihal 31.2°C and Batote 29.2°C.
