Over 7 cr pilgrims take holy dip at Sangam in 6 days

PRAYAGRAJ, Jan 16: The sacred confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and the mystical Saraswati at Sangam Triveni is witnessing an extraordinary display of devotion and faith as saints, Kalpvasis and devotees gather in large numbers to take the holy dip.
In just six days, from January 11 to January 16, over 7 crore pilgrims have taken the holy dip at the Sangam, marking an unparalleled spiritual milestone. On Thursday alone, more than 30 lakh devotees bathed in the sacred waters, seeking virtue and divine blessings.
It may be noted that the Yogi government anticipates that over 45 crore people will attend the Maha Kumbh this time. The early figure of 7 crore bathers at the start of the event strongly indicates this projection.
Despite the biting cold in Prayagraj, the enthusiasm and devotion of pilgrims remain undeterred. Every day, lakhs of devotees from across the country and the world are arriving in Prayagraj to take a holy dip in the sacred Triveni Sangam with faith and reverence.
By 6 PM on Thursday, over 30 lakh people had bathed at the Sangam, including 10 lakh Kalpvasis, alongside saints and devotees from India and abroad.
The entire Maha Kumbh Mela area is witnessing a continuous stream of pilgrims. Devotees from various states of India and countries around the world are immersing themselves in the spiritual atmosphere of the holy confluence.
Maha Kumbh Nagar offers a vibrant glimpse of the nation's diverse cultural heritage, uniting faith and traditions under one spiritual roof.
Analyzing the total number of bathers so far, from January 11 to January 16, over 7 crore people have taken a sacred dip in the Sangam. On January 11, before the start of Maha Kumbh, approximately 45 lakh people bathed, while January 12 saw a record 65 lakh bathers.
In just the two days leading up to Maha Kumbh, over one crore people took part in the holy ritual.
On the first day of Maha Kumbh, Paush Purnima, a record 1.70 crore pilgrims bathed and on January 14, during the Makar Sankranti Amrit Snan, 3.50 crore people took a holy dip. In the first two days of Maha Kumbh alone, more than 5.20 crore devotees immersed themselves in the sacred waters.
Besides, on January 15, 40 lakh bathers participated and by 6 PM on January 16, 30 lakh more had bathed, pushing the total number of bathers to over 7 crore.
