Samba, Feb 15: Akashvani Jammu, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Samba, celebrated Radio Kisan Divas at KVK Samba, witnessing enthusiastic participation from a large number of farmers, including women farmers from various remote villages of Samba district, J&K UT. The event served as a significant platform for knowledge-sharing, expert guidance, and discussions on modern agricultural practices and government welfare schemes.
Bachan Lal, Assistant Director (Programmes), Akashvani Jammu, welcomed all the farmers who traveled from remote areas to participate in the event. He emphasized the role of Akashvani Jammu in connecting farmers with experts and promoting awareness about innovative farming techniques and government initiatives.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Sanjay Khajuria from SKUAST Jammu expressed gratitude to Akashvani Jammu for facilitating the farmers' and experts' meet. He guided the farmers on Agroforestry for livelihood security of Kandi farmers and highlighted the crucial role of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) in agricultural development.
Mukesh Sharma, Chief Horticulture Officer, Samba, urged the farmers to take full advantage of various government schemes designed for their welfare. He elaborated on different horticulture schemes and financial assistance programs that can help farmers enhance productivity and profitability.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Samba, Sh. Gopal Singh, in his address, delivered a lecture on "Agricultural Development through Various Government Schemes." He reassured the farming community that the Agriculture Department is committed to their upliftment and is continuously working to introduce new policies and initiatives for their benefit.
