Awareness program on Disaster Management organized

Jammu, Feb 15: The Disaster Management Committee of Govt. Degree College, R.S. Pura, organized an "Awareness program on Disaster Mana-gement" under the supervision of Dr. Jugal Kishore, Convener, Disaster Management Committee, under the able guidance of Dr. Preetpal Kour, worthy principal of the college, being the chief guest.
The program was inaugurated by the worthy Principal, Dr. Preetpal Kour, and the proceedings of the program were initiated by Dr. Jugal Kishore, Disaster Management Committee/Cell, wherein he welcomed the chief guest and aware the august audience about the role and functions of the Disaster Management Committee/Cell of the college. In the program, a documentary on the modus operandi to be observed during an disaster emergency was screened, followed by a drill on how to operate a fire extinguisher that was held in the presence of the college students and staff members.
While addressing the occasion, the principal of the college made the students aware of the importance of such disaster management skills and encouraged the Disaster Management Committee/ Cell of the college to organize such a program to keep the students equipped enough to deal with any unexpected emergencies.
The program was concluded with a formal vote of thanks to the worthy principal, Dr. Preetpal Kour, chief guest on the occasion, by Prof. Rajinder Singh, a member of the Disaster Management Committee/Cell. Among others who were present on the occasion were Dr. Chanchal Angral, Dr. Shifali Abrol, Prof. Sankait Gupta, Prof. Meeshu Pandita, Prof. Geetika Goswami, and Dr. Rakesh Kalotra.
