GDC RS Pura holds valedictory ceremony of NSS winter camp

JAMMU, Feb 15: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government Degree College (GDC) R. S. Pura successfully conducted the valedictory ceremony for its Winter Camp 2025. The camp, which aimed at promoting community service and social responsibility among students, concluded with a celebration of the participants' hard work and dedication.
The valedictory event was organised by Dr. Chanchal Angral NSS PO under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr. Preetpal Kour. The event commenced with lightning of ceremonial lamp .Saraswati Vandana was performed by volunteers of NSS invoking divine blessings and setting a spiritual tone to the celebration.
The students were also treated with a visual feast by a small cultural program presented by the students. During the camp, students were engaged in a range of community service initiatives, including environmental awareness programs, cleanliness drives, and educational outreach underprivileged communities.
Principal of GDC R. S. Pura, Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, commended the students for their exemplary efforts and encouraged them to continue their social work beyond the camp. Such camps not only contribute to the welfare of the local community but also help to develop leadership and teamwork skills that will guide all the students in their future endeavors.
The event featured presentation of 7 days report by Dr. Chanchal Angral NSS programme officer. She also added that the NSS unit of GDC R. S. Pura remains committed to foster a spirit of volunteerism and community service among students, helping them develop a sense of social responsibility. Certificates of appreciation were also distributed to the participants to recognize their dedication and hard work.The formal vote of thanks was given by Dr. Savleen Kour. The event was attended by members of NSS Unit and other prominent faculty of the college.
