Asia’s largest Tulip Garden to open for visitors on Wednesday

25/03/2025

SRINAGAR, Mar 24: Srinagar's iconic Tulip Garden, nestled in the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain range, is set to welcome visitors from Wednesday.
Officials said the garden will showcase a breathtaking display of over 1.7 million tulips across 74 varieties, and gardeners are making final preparations for the flower carpet.
The Tulip Garden, which has earned a place in the World Book of Records London, remains a key attraction and a major draw for tourists with the arrival of spring. Last year, it witnessed an unprecedented footfall of 4.65 lakh visitors within just 25 days.
To further enhance the experience, the floriculture department is planning to host a Tulip Festival in April, celebrating the garden's beauty with cultural events and activities.
Meanwhile, Traffic Police has issued an advisory ahead of the opening of the Tulip garden.
With a large influx of tourists and locals, especially around Eid-ul-Fitr, authorities have implemented a one-way traffic plan on holidays to ease congestion.
As per the advisory, visitors heading to the Tulip Garden must take the Lal Chowk-Dalgate-Boulevard/Gupkar Road, while the return route will be via Nishat-Foreshore-Habak-Dargah-Khanyar.
Commuters from Harwan, Shalimar, and Nishat towards Lal Chowk should use the Foreshore-Hazratbal route instead of Nishat-Boulevard. Additionally, vehicles from Gulab Bagh, Zakura, Naseembagh, and Habbak must take 90 Feet Road and Ali Jan Road to reach Lal Chowk.
Authorities have also designated three parking spots for the visitors.
