Laeeq, Aejaz, Sunita promoted as Directors of Prosecution

JAMMU, Jan 27: The Home Department, Govern-ment of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, vide Order No. 64 of 2026 dated January 27, 2026, has promoted Laeeq Ahmad Dar, Aejaz Ahmad Bhat and Sunita Kargotra as Directors of Prosecution in the Prosecution Department, J&K.
Laeeq Ahmad Dar, presently posted as Joint Director in the Crime Branch, J&K, is a highly decorated officer of the Prosecution Department with an outstanding service record and consistently excellent Annual Performance Reports (APRs). During his distinguished career, he has been conferred the Director General of Police (DGP) Commendation Medal, the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Services, and the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Services. He has also served on several committees of the Home and Police Departments and has been a member of various Police Recruitment Boards.
Aejaz Ahmad Bhat, currently serving as Joint Director at Prosecution Headquarters, J&K, is also a recipient of the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Services and is known for his unblemished service record. The officer is scheduled to retire on January 31, 2026.
Sunita Kargotra, presently posted as Joint Director in the Prosecution Department, ACB J&K, has an outstanding service career and is widely known for her integrity, professionalism and dedication to duty.
