Srinagar, May 1: The Special Crime Wing Kashmir of the Crime Branch J&K has filed a chargesheet in a multi-lakh government job fraud case before the Chief Judicial Magis-trate, Srinagar, officials said on Friday.
The chargesheet, filed in FIR No. 09/2019 under Sections 201, 419, 420, 468, 471 and 120-B RPC, names Fayaz Ahmad Khan of Maloora Shalteng, Showkat Ahmad Shah of Shanzipora Handwara, and Owais Ahmad Rather of Shalteng Khwaja Bagh. The case stems from a complaint by Pulwama residents who alleged that the accused collected large sums of money on the promise of securing government jobs for their relatives.
Probe findings revealed that the accused, acting in conspiracy, impersonated influential officials and issued forged appointment orders purportedly from the Forest Depart-ment, which were later found to be fake. The accused alle-gedly accepted cash payments under the pretext of providing "backdoor entry" into government service.
The challan has been submitted before the competent court for judicial determination.
