SC Collegium approves appointment of nine advocates as Calcutta HC judges

NEW DELHI, May 12: The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the proposal for appointment of nine advocates as judges of the Calcutta High Court, according to an official statement.
The decision was taken in the Collegium meetings held on May 11 and 12, 2026.
The advocates cleared for elevation are Indranil Roy, Aryak Dutt, Atarup Banerjee, Sandip Kumar De, Partha Pratim Roy, Sudip Deb, Anuj Singh, Arjun Ray Mukherjee and Rishad Medora.
The appointments will come into effect after the issuance of warrants of appointment by the Centre following the recommendation process.
