Jammu, May 20: The Innovation and Entrepr-eneurship Development Centre (I2EDC) of IIT Jammu organised a one-day SEED (Student Enric-hment through Engin-eering and Design) programme for 31 students of KC International School, Udheywala, aimed at introducing young learners to engineering concepts and innovation.
The students participated in the programme along with their teachers, Toshan Moten and Kavleen Kaur, officials said.
The initiative focused on fostering creativity, problem-solving abilities and engineering aptitude through experiential learning and practical exposure.
During the session, students were introduced to the fundamentals of RC car engineering, including components such as Arduino Uno, motor drivers, batteries, Bluetooth modules, chassis, wheels and electronic circuits.
Mohammad Israil, Officer In-Charge, I2EDC, IIT Jammu, conducted interactive demonstrations explaining the functioning of mechanical and electronic systems in a simplified manner.
A key attraction of the programme was a hands-on activity involving disassembling and reassembling RC cars, enabling students to gain practical understanding of engineering design and working mechanisms.
Participants were also introduced to the evolution of transportation technologies, tracing developments from early wheel-based systems to modern automobiles and high-speed transport.
Officials said the interactive sessions helped stimulate analytical thinking and curiosity among students.
The programme was supported by the Professor In-Charge, I2EDC, along with Namrit Bhardwaj, Sahil Sharma and Priyanka Manhas.
The event concluded with distribution of certificates and participation badges, while six students were awarded Level-02 "Young Tinkerer" badges for outstanding performance.
