DPS schools conclude three-day zonal mathematics programme

JAMMU, May 26: DPS Jammu, Katra and Nag-bani concluded a three-day Zonal Residential Progra-mme in Mathematics with a valedictory ceremony aimed at promoting academic excellence, collaborative learning and innovative teaching practices, officials said on Tuesday.
The programme, organised under the leadership of Founder and Pro-Vice Chairperson of DPS Jammu, Nagbani and Katra, Kunwarani Dr Ritu Singh, brought together educators from 10 DPS schools across Jammu and Kashmir to provide a platform for professional development and exchange of ideas.
Vice-Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Prof (Dr) Pragati Kumar, attended the event as the chief guest, while Deputy Chief Education Officer Jammu, Pardeep Singh Rakwal, was the guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Ritu Singh highlighted the importance of collaborative learning, innovation in pedagogy and competency-based education in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
She said mathematics plays a crucial role in developing analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities among students and encouraged teachers to apply the learnings from the programme in their classrooms.
Dr Singh also expressed confidence that the professional networks and collaborative relationships developed during the programme would contribute to strengthening educational development.
She thanked Chairman of The DPS Society V K Shunglu and other senior functionaries, including officials of DPS Society and Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), for their support and guidance.
A video presentation highlighting the work and contributions of The DPS Society and DPSS-HRDC towards academic development and teacher empowerment was also showcased during the event.
Teachers participating in the programme shared their experiences and discussed innovative teaching methods, experiential learning and competency-based classroom practices.
Officials said participation certificates and mementoes were presented to educators in recognition of their contribution and involvement during the programme.
