Faculty orientation workshop on project-based learning concludes at GCW Gandhi Nagar

Jammu, May 26: A two-day faculty orientation workshop on "Strengthening Project-Based Learning and Design Your Degree (DYD) Pedagogy" concluded at Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar under the aegis of Cluster University of Jammu.
The concluding day of the workshop focused on the theme "Project Preparation, Innovation and Collaborative Learning" and witnessed participation of faculty members from different institutions, officials said.
During the programme, Prof. Alka Sharma delivered a session on innovative teaching strategies under the DYD framework and highlighted the importance of learner-centric approaches, experiential learning and innovative classroom practices in higher education.
Prof. K. S. Charak of the University of Jammu also conducted a session on "Mathematics without Phobia", focusing on student-friendly approaches to improve understanding and reduce fear associated with mathematics.
A hands-on session on project preparation was also organised during which faculty members worked on designing project models and interdisciplinary learning activities.
The workshop also featured a panel discussion on implementation of project-based learning and DYD pedagogy in higher education institutions, where participants discussed challenges, opportunities and best practices.
The programme concluded with a valedictory session and feedback from participants, who appreciated the workshop for enhancing understanding of innovative teaching methods and collaborative learning practices.
