SBAJC Trust to pay tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath Ji on June 1

JAMMU, May 29: Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath Jagannath Charitable (SBAJC) Trust, Shalimar Chowk, Jammu, has invited citizens from all walks of life to participate in the tribute programmes being organized in memory of Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath Ji on June 1, 2026, at Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath Smarak Park, Shalimar Chowk. The Trust has finalized all arrangements to ensure the observance is conducted in a peaceful and dignified manner.
Addressing a press conference, Surinder Bhagat, Chairman of the Trust, said that Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath Ji's sacrifice continues to inspire generations and serves as a guiding force for youth towards patriotism, service and social responsibility.
He appealed to the people of Jammu to participate in large numbers and pay homage to the martyr with unity, respect and devotion.
The programme will commence with a Havan at 8:00 AM, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at 9:00 AM at the Shaheed Smarak Park. Citizens, public representatives, government officials and family members of the martyr are expected to participate in the tribute ceremony.
At 11:00 AM, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, is scheduled to visit the memorial and offer floral tributes. The event will also feature an anti-drug awareness programme, a seminar and a collective Nasha Mukti pledge aimed at encouraging youth to stay away from substance abuse and contribute positively towards society.
The Trust stated that the programme has been designed not only to honour the supreme sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath Ji but also to spread awareness about social responsibility, national service and the importance of building a drug-free society.
The event will conclude with Jalpan and refreshments for all attendees at 12:30 PM.
Among those present during the press conference were Surinder Bhagat, R.L. Bhagat, Rashpal Digrra, L.D. Gorkha, Anil Masoom and Yashpal Singh, who reiterated their appeal to the public to participate in the commemorative programme and pay homage to the revered martyr.
