Awareness programmes on harmful effects of tobacco; legal aid services organised in Reasi

REASI, May 30: REASI, MAY 30: Under the leadership of Khalil Choudhary, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Reasi and Principal District and Sessions Judge Reasi and the guidance of Pooja Gupta, Secretary, DLSA Reasi, an awareness programme on the Harmful Effects of Tobacco Use was organized today at Legal Aid Clinic Arabia, Legal Aid Clinic Bathoie Mahore by the Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of TLSC Mahore.
During the programme, the participants were sensitized about the serious health hazards associated with tobacco consumption, including cancer, heart diseases, respiratory disorders and other life-threatening illnesses.
The PLV highlighted the adverse impact of tobacco use on individuals, families and society and emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy and tobacco-free lifestyle. The participants were also informed about various government initiatives and legal provisions aimed at controlling tobacco consumption and protecting public health. The programme encouraged people, especially youth, to stay away from tobacco products and spread awareness among their peers and family members. The programme witnessed active participation from locals, who appreciated the efforts of the Legal Services Institutions in promoting public health awareness and legal literacy.
Another awareness programme on "Respect Women" was organized by the Panel Lawyers/Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of TLSC Katra at Govern-ment Middle School Garan.
