Modi Govt committed to taking governance, solutions to doorsteps: Dr Jitendra

Jammu, June 5: union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh Friday said that the Modi government is committed to taking governance and solutions to the doorsteps of the people.
As part of public outreach in his Parliamentary constituency, Dr Singh held a Public Darbar in Malhori village of district Doda and interacted with citizens, public representatives and delegations from different parts of the district, listening to their grievances and development-related demands.
Several issues raised by the public were addressed on the spot, while directions were issued to the concerned departments for prompt resolution of other matters. The Minister was accompanied by MLA Skati Parihar and senior officers.
A large number of citizens from Doda town and adjoining areas participated in the programme and raised issues concerning road connectivity, drinking water supply, healthcare facilities, education, power infrastructure, employment opportunities and implementation of various welfare schemes.
Senior officers of the district administration and line departments redressed several public grievances on the spot.
Interacting with the participants, Dr. Singh reiterated the commitment of the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister NarendraModi towards citizen-centric governance and effective grievance redressal.
He said that the objective of such Public Durbars is to ensure direct communication between the administration and the people and to facilitate timely resolution of public concerns.
"The Government believes in taking governance to the doorstep of the people. Public outreach programmes such as these strengthen transparency, accountability and public confidence in the administrative system," the union Minister said.
Dr.Jitendra Singh emphasized that development of the Chenab region, including Doda district, remains a priority and several major infrastructure and connectivity projects have been undertaken in recent years to improve the quality of life of the people.
He assured the participants that all genuine issues brought before the administration would receive due attention and follow-up action.
The Minister also reviewed the status of ongoing developmental works and welfare initiatives in the district and stressed the need for effective implementation of government schemes to ensure that the intended benefits reach every eligible beneficiary.
Local people appreciated the initiative and expressed satisfaction over the opportunity to directly interact with the union Minister and senior officers. Many citizens welcomed the responsive approach of the administration and the immediate attention given to several public issues during the Darbar.
