SRINAGAR, Jun 22: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday felicitated meritorious Class X and XII students and honoured outstanding educators at a national daily's Medhavi Chhatra Samman Samaroh in Srinagar, urging students and teachers to embrace artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to prepare for the future.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said rapid technological advancements are transforming classrooms and workplaces, making it essential for students to develop critical thinking, creativity and adaptability.
"We are living in an era of constant change. AI and modern technologies are reshaping our classrooms. It is an opportunity for students and teachers to rise higher, think more deeply and take bolder steps," he said.
Sinha said the future would bring unprecedented changes, with new career opportunities emerging as traditional jobs evolve. He stressed that true brilliance lies not merely in academic scores but in innovation, problem-solving and the willingness to embrace change.
Addressing teachers, the Lieutenant Governor said their role now extends beyond completing the syllabus and includes nurturing lifelong learning, creativity, compassion and empathy among students.
He urged educators to prepare students not only with technical skills but also with values that would enable them to become responsible and humane citizens capable of leading society through future challenges.
Congratulating the award-winning students, Sinha encouraged them to pursue excellence with humility, courage and a sense of responsibility.
He said success should ultimately be measured by one's contribution to society and urged the students to use their knowledge and abilities for the greater good.
The function was attended by J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Commissioner Secretary Cooperatives Yasha Mudgal, Commissioner Secretary School Education Ram Niwas Sharma, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg, Director Information Shreya Singhal, SSP Srinagar G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, senior officials, teachers and students.
