LG joins Youm-e-Ashura Zuljinah procession in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jun 26: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday joined the Zuljinah procession at Zadibal in Srinagar on the solemn occasion of Youm-e-Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram, & paid tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions.
Paying homage to the martyrs of Karbala, the Lieutenant Governor said the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions for peace, love and compassion would continue to inspire generations and serve as an eternal guide for building a society based on equality and harmony.
He said Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) gave the timeless message of selfless service and compassion for the underprivileged, adding that society should draw inspiration from his life and ideals by following the path of truth, justice and humanity.
During the procession, the Lieutenant Governor also served refreshments to the mourners participating in the observance of Youm-e-Ashura.
