Rani Mukerji has looked back on one of the toughest experiences she faced while filming the action thriller 'Mardaani 3'. The actress revealed that the movie's climax sequence demanded both physical endurance and mental focus, making it one of the most challenging shoots of her career.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Rani said working through the night has always been difficult because it goes against her natural routine. Although adapting to night schedules is never easy, she admitted that filming after dark also creates a unique atmosphere on set.
She said, "I think every project comes with its own set of challenges, but for me, night shoots are always the toughest because I'm naturally a morning person. I like waking up early and sleeping early, so whenever we have night schedules, I have to completely reset my body clock.
I also don't enjoy sleeping during the day, so adjusting to that routine can be quite difficult. That said, there's something very special about shooting at night. The energy on set is unlike anything else. While the entire city is asleep, the film crew is fully alive and working together. There's a unique calmness because everything around is so quiet, and that atmosphere brings a different kind of focus and excitement to the shoot."
According to the actress, despite the physical adjustments required, the peaceful surroundings and collective energy of the crew make night shoots a memorable experience.
Rani revealed that filming the climax turned out to be the most exhausting part of the production. The demanding action sequence required the team to continue shooting for nearly an entire day without a significant break. Recalling the experience, she shared, "One of the most challenging experiences was filming the climax sequence.
We shot for 18 hours straight, starting at 3 p.m. and wrapping up around 10 a.m. the next morning. It wasn't difficult because of the schedule alone, but because the sequence was physically demanding and required a lot of strength and intensity. By the end of it, after being awake and shooting through the entire night, it definitely pushed me to my limits. But seeing how the scene came together made all the hard work worthwhile." The actress said the effort was worthwhile after watching how the sequence finally appeared on screen.
The latest instalment in the Mardaani franchise follows Shivani Shivaji Roy as she takes on another difficult investigation.
As she searches for missing girls, she uncovers an organised criminal operation, forcing her into a tense confrontation that drives the story forward. Apart from Rani Mukerji, the film also features Janki Bodiwala and Mallika Prasad in pivotal roles. 'Mardaani 3' is now preparing for its World Television Premiere on July 18 at 8 PM. Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, Mardaani 3 brings back fearless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy, who embarks on another dangerous mission.
This time, she investigates the disappearance of several young girls, a case that eventually leads her to a powerful criminal network.
