Congress stages fresh protest over alleged Ram Mandir fund misappropriation

JAMMU, Jul 15: The Congress District Jammu Rural on Tuesday staged another protest at Suchetgarh, alleging misappropriation of funds collected for the Ram Mandir and demanding a time-bound CBI inquiry into the matter.
The protest was led by District Congress Presi-dent Neeraj Kundan and Suchetgarh Incharge Ajaib Singh Mottan, with party workers, local residents and supporters raising slogans against the alleged financial irregularities and seeking accountability.
Addressing the gathering, Kundan alleged that funds contributed by devotees for the Ram Mandir had been misused and demanded a comprehensive audit of the collections, a CBI probe and strict action against those found responsible. He said the Congress would continue its agitation until the matter was thoroughly investigated.
Mottan said the party would intensify its campaign across the district, alleging that public faith had been undermined. He called for immediate action by the government, including a white paper on the utilisation of the funds and appropriate legal action if any wrongdoing is established.
The protesters carried placards demanding transparency and submitted a memorandum to the local administration. The Congress said it would continue holding similar demonstrations in different parts of the district until its demands are addressed.
Among those who participated in the protest were Happy Randhawa, Ghara Ram Mottan, Ravi Targotra, Sat Pal Mandi, S. Ashok Singh, Ch. Sher Singh, Akash Mandi, Charanjit Kumar and Dr. Manohar Lal.
