JAMMU, Jul 15: Former Member of Parliament Dr Karan Singh on Wednesday expressed concern over the prolonged hunger strike of noted Ladakhi innovator and social activist Sonam Wangchuk and appealed to him to end his fast.
In a statement issued here, Dr. Singh said the continued fast could pose a serious threat to Wangchuk's health and urged him to resume a normal diet after having effectively conveyed his concerns. "Having made his point, he should now resume normal diet. We can ill-afford to lose such a talented innovator who has made an important contribution to life in Ladakh over the years," Dr. Singh said.
He described Wangchuk as a distinguished innovator whose contributions to sustainable development, education and the welfare of Ladakh have earned widespread recognition and expressed hope that his health would not be put at further risk.
