IIM Jammu highlights global exposure, entrepreneurship on Day 3 of orientation programme

JAMMU, Jul 15: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu on Wednesday continued its Holistic Orientation Programme 2026, with the third day focusing on global exposure, entrepreneurship, industry engagement and innovative learning for students of its new academic batches.
The programme is being attended by students of the 7th Ph.D. Batch, 11th MBA Batch, 5th MBA (Healthcare) Batch and the inaugural MBA (Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics) Batch.
The day began with a mindfulness session conducted by Yoga Guru Sahil Mehra under the aegis of Anandam:
The Centre for Happiness, aimed at promoting emotional well-being and resilience among students.
An interactive session on international collaborations was conducted by Dr. Pranjal Pachpore, Chairperson, Interna-tional Relations, in the presence of Dr. Kavita Yadav, Co-Chairperson, International Relations, highlighting IIM Jammu's global partnerships, student exchange programmes and cross-cultural learning opportunities.
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) organised a panel discussion featuring industrialists and entrepreneurs, including Parveen Pargal, Annil N. Suri, Hasit Singh Sachdev, Aagam Jain, Aman Sharma, Akarsh Nargotra and Dr. Vivek Sharma, who shared their entrepreneurial experiences and encouraged students to pursue innovation and enterprise.
Students also attended an industry session by Aalap Bansal, Partner, KPMG, who spoke on organisational resilience in a rapidly changing global business environment, emphasising adaptability, strategic thinking and continuous learning.
Another leadership session was delivered by Anurag Sharma, Joint President, Primary and Aluminium Business, Hindalco Industries Limited, who urged students to view leadership as a behaviour rooted in empathy, curiosity and lifelong learning.
The day's programme concluded with a session on case-based learning by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, who introduced students to IIM Jammu's case-study pedagogy and highlighted its role in developing analytical thinking, decision-making and leadership skills through real-world business situations.
