Historic Bhairav Yatra of Rajouri included in National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of India: LG Sinha

JAMMU, Jul 15: The historic Bhairav Yatra of Rajouri district has been officially included in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of India.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced the recognition in a post on X, calling it a proud moment for Rajouri.
"Proud moment for Rajouri! The district's historic Bhairav Yatra has officially been added to the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of India," Sinha said.
He congratulated the Rajouri District Administration and the J&K Department of Culture for making the achievement possible, stating that the "recognition would will go a long way in documenting, preserving, and celebrating the area's deep spiritual and cultural roots."
"Congratulations to the Rajouri District Administration and the J&K's Department of Culture for turning this dream into a reality," Singh said in a post.
Sinha said the national recognition honours generations of devotees who have preserved and carried forward the tradition.
"The inclusion of Bhairav Yatra in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage will strengthen Rajouri's unique cultural footprint on the national stage and it will open the door for research, cultural exchange, and sustainable heritage tourism," he added.
The inclusion marks an important milestone in highlighting Jammu and Kashmir's diverse cultural heritage and preserving its traditional practices for future generations.
