JAMMU, Jul 15: Security personnel on Wednesday conducted a comprehensive mock drill in Jammu to assess preparedness and emergency response to any terror threat targeting railway infrastructure and strengthen inter-agency coordination during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
The exercise involved personnel from the General Railway Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Bomb Disposal Squad and the State Disaster Response Force, officials said.
The exercise simulated challenging scenarios, including anti-militancy operations, terrorist threats, emergency situations and law-and-order contingencies, to evaluate the preparedness and response capabilities of the participating forces, they said.
The drill was conducted successfully, with personnel demonstrating a high level of coordination, discipline, alertness and professional competence while responding to simulated emergencies, officials said.
The exercise also assessed operational readiness and reinforced standard operating procedures to ensure a swift, effective and coordinated response during critical incidents.
Officials said such joint exercises play an important role in enhancing operational preparedness and strengthening coordination among security agencies.
