LG Saxena inaugurates Farmers’ Hostel in Kargil, reviews agriculture facilities

KARGIL, Jul 26: Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Sunday inaugurated the Agriculture Department's Farmers' Hostel at Lower Kurbathang in Kargil, aimed at strengthening support infrastructure for the farming community in the district.
Following the inauguration, Saxena interacted with farmers and heard their grievances and suggestions related to agricultural development.
The LG assured the farmers of all possible support from the administration to promote sustainable agriculture and improve their livelihoods.
Saxena also visited hi-tech greenhouses established by the Agriculture Department and reviewed crop production, cultivation practices and the overall performance of the units.
He appreciated the department and progressive farmers for adopting modern farming techniques and encouraged them to make greater use of advanced agricultural technologies to enhance productivity and income.
The LG was accompanied by Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Ladakh MP Mohmad Haneefa Jan, Executive Councillors of LAHDC Kargil and senior officers of the district administration and Agriculture Department.
