BJP reviews preparations for Guru Ravidas Jayanti, Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

JAMMU, Jul 28: The Jammu and Kashmir BJP on Tuesday reviewed preparations for programmes to mark the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji and the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign at a meeting held at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar here.
The meeting was chaired by BJP J&K General Secretary (Organi-sation) Ashok Koul and Leader of Opposition in the J&K Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma. It was attended by BJP National Secretary and MLA Dr Narinder Singh, J&K BJP General Secretary Gopal Mahajan, MLAs Sham Lal Sharma, Ch Vikram Randhawa, Prof Gharu Ram, Yudhvir Sethi and Rajiv Bhagat, district presidents and other senior party leaders.
Addressing the meeting, Ashok Koul said both programmes were aimed at connecting people, particularly the youth, with India's cultural heritage, social values and patriotic spirit. He said the celebrations of Guru Ravidas Ji's birth anniversary would spread the saint's message of equality, harmony and social justice, while the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign would further strengthen respect for the national flag and the spirit of nationalism.
He called upon party leaders and legislators to ensure maximum public participation through coordinated efforts at every organisational level.
Sunil Sharma said BJP workers had always remained committed to addressing social issues alongside their political responsibilities. He urged party representatives and the organisational network to work in close coordination to take both programmes to every village, ward and booth across Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr Narinder Singh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had transformed both initiatives into people's movements through active public participation and stressed the need to encourage greater involvement of the youth.
Gopal Mahajan said the BJP had consistently worked to promote social harmony and national unity through public participation. He urged party workers to organise effective grassroots programmes so that the messages of Guru Ravidas Ji and the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign reached every household in the Union Territory.
