2 wives of notorious drug peddler held with 100 gm heroin in Samba

JAMMU, Aug 1: Two wives of a notorious drug peddler were arrested along with 100 grams of heroin in Samba district on Saturday, police said.
The women were proceeding towards Vijaypur when they were intercepted and searched by a police party during an anti-drug peddling operation, resulting in the recovery of the contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesperson said. The arrested accused have been identified as Noor Jan and Noor Jahan. Both are wives of alleged drug peddler MohdYaqoob alias "Yooqa", a resident of RakhBarotian village. He is presently residing in Rahya village of Vijaypur.
A case under various sections of the NDPS Act was registered against the arrested women at Police Station Vijaypur, and an investigation was underway, the spokesperson said.
Yaqoob is involved in 17 cases under the NDPS Act and other criminal offences registered at various police stations in the districts of Jammu, Samba and Reasi.
