JAMMU, Aug 4: BJP Jammu and Kashmir General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul on Tuesday said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have rejected dynastic politics and are increasingly supporting development-oriented governance, while calling upon party workers to intensify grassroots outreach across the Union Territory.
Addressing an organisational review meeting at TRC Handwara and later a public convention at Langate in Kupwara district, Koul reviewed the party's organisational preparedness and discussed strategies for upcoming programmes.
The meetings were attended by J&K BJP Secretary Mudasir Wani, Kupwara Prabhari Adv. Sajid Yousuf Shah, District President Syed Rafiq Shah, besides other party leaders and workers.
Koul asked party functionaries to strengthen booth-level committees, maintain regular contact with the public and ensure the effective implementation of the party's programmes at the grassroots.
He said the BJP remains connected with the people throughout the year and is committed to ensuring that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach every eligible citizen.
Addressing the public convention, Koul said Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed significant progress in infrastructure, connectivity, education, healthcare, tourism and public welfare under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Taking a swipe at opposition parties, he alleged that those who ruled the Union Territory for decades had relied on "empty promises and dynastic politics" and had lost public confidence.
He urged party workers to strengthen public outreach, address people's grievances and counter what he described as misinformation by political opponents, while carrying forward the BJP's vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas."
