JU Business School begins three-day induction programme for MBA students

JAMMU, Aug 4: The Business School (TBS), University of Jammu, on Tuesday commenced a three-day induction programme for newly admitted MBA students of the 2026 academic session to acquaint them with the institution's academic environment, facilities and professional expectations.
The programme began with an orientation session introducing students to the Business School, its library and business lab, followed by the administration of the Nasha Mukti Pledge to promote a healthy and drug-free campus.
Welcoming the students, Prof. Amisha Gupta, Director, The Business School, emphasised the importance of academic excellence, discipline, continuous learning and professional development. She encouraged students to make optimum use of the institution's resources and pursue their goals with dedication and integrity.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Alka Sharma, Dean, Business Studies, highlighted the growing importance of skill development and urged students to actively participate in capacity-building programmes to enhance their professional competencies.
The induction programme also featured an interaction with faculty members, who guided students on career planning, leadership, time management and continuous self-improvement.
During the alumni interaction, Alpesha Gupta, founder of Alpesha's Vanity, shared her entrepreneurial journey and encouraged students to pursue their ambitions with confidence. Rishabh Mahajan, founder of ethnic kidswear brand Coryn & Kin, stressed the importance of developing market-ready skills with a focus on Artificial Intelligence.
A mentoring session conducted by Prof. Shallu Sharma and Dr Abdul Rashid Manhas, Deputy Chief Proctors of the University, sensitised students about institutional discipline, ethical conduct, anti-ragging measures and the importance of maintaining a safe, inclusive and respectful campus environment.
