LEAD releases third annual Smarika highlighting development initiatives across J&K and Ladakh

JAMMU, Aug 6: LEAD - LJK Economic Growth and Development Dialogue on Thursday released the third edition of its annual Smarika, highlighting the organisation's initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive economic growth, entrepreneurship and sustainable development across the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The publication was released at a function held at Amar Singh Club by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar in the presence of Director, Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Arun Kumar Manhas, who was the guest of honour. The event was attended by LEAD board members, executive members and representatives from the business community.
The latest edition of the Smarika documents LEAD's activities over the past year, covering initiatives related to entrepreneurship development, startup promotion, rural livelihoods, agriculture, tourism, skill development, policy research, youth engagement, environmental sustainability and collaborations with government institutions, academia, industry and civil society organisations.
Speaking on the occasion, LEAD Convenor Harinder Gupta reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to evidence-based policy research, strengthening local enterprises, supporting startups and creating sustainable economic opportunities across the region.
Addressing the gathering, Arun Kumar Manhas appreciated LEAD's efforts in promoting entrepreneurship and said the Industries and Commerce Department would continue extending support to the organisation's developmental initiatives.
Divisional Commiss-ioner Ramesh Kumar commended LEAD's contribution to regional development and said he had been associated with the organisation since its inception.
He particularly praised Mahotsav - Jammu Kashmir Ladakh, describing it as one of Jammu's major public events showcasing entrepreneurship, tourism, handicrafts, agriculture, local cuisine and culture.
