Babu Rampal urges JKNC workers to strengthen grassroots outreach

JAMMU, Aug 9: Former minister and Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Central Zone President Babu Rampal on Sunday urged party workers to remain closely connected with the people and intensify grassroots outreach while preparing for the forthcoming Local Body and Panchayat elections.
Rampal was addressing a meeting of the JKNC Central Zone organised under his chairmanship. The meeting, organised by Zonal Secretary and Coordinator Dr. Vikas Sharma, discussed organisational strengthening and the party's strategy for the forthcoming elections.
Rampal asked party workers to regularly visit their respective areas, listen to public grievances and ensure that genuine issues are taken up through appropriate forums.
He reiterated the demand for restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and urged the Prime Minister to fulfil the commitment made to the people of the Union Territory.
"Full statehood will pave the way for a stronger governance structure, enabling better policy-making, economic planning and job creation initiatives tailored to the unique needs of the region," Rampal said.
He said an elected state government would have greater scope to formulate policies aimed at strengthening the local economy, creating employment opportunities and ensuring effective implementation of welfare schemes.
Rampal stressed that public service, accountability and responsiveness should remain at the core of organisational activities and called for greater coordination among party workers.
He urged functionaries to strengthen booth- and ward-level networks, increase public outreach and remain accessible to the people.
He said the forthcoming Local Body and Panchayat elections would provide an opportunity to reconnect with the people, understand their aspirations and strengthen democratic institutions at the grassroots level.
Highlighting government initiatives, Rampal said steps had been taken towards improving public services, strengthening infrastructure, promoting development and addressing day-to-day concerns of the people.
He asked party workers to take government initiatives and welfare measures to the people and ensure that eligible beneficiaries are aware of the schemes and programmes available to them.
Dr. Vikas Sharma said restoration of statehood was a legitimate democratic aspiration of the people and should remain a priority.
