First Foundation Day of Brigadier Rajinder Singh MVC Boys’ Hostel celebrated

JAMMU, Aug 19: The first Foundation Day of Brigadier Rajinder Singh MVC Boys' Hostel at the Central University of Jammu was celebrated with enthusiasm, with Vice-Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Jain calling upon students to make the best use of available facilities and work tirelessly towards achieving their goals.
Prof Jain, who was the chief guest, said students are the primary source of strength for any educational institution and that the holistic development of an institution is closely linked with the overall development of its students.
He said the university administration remained committed to providing students with the necessary facilities and resources. He noted that all required facilities and arrangements had been made available at the 500-bed hostel and appreciated the hostel staff for their dedicated services.
Prof Jain urged students to utilise the facilities provided to them and remain focused on their academic and personal goals.
Referring to the rapidly changing global environment, he cautioned students against online content and games that could distract young people from productive pursuits.
He urged them to exercise wisdom and discretion while using digital platforms and called upon them to preserve the spirit of Indianness in their thoughts, words and actions.
Registrar Prof Yashwant Singh said the university was fortunate to have the visionary leadership of Prof Sanjeev Jain and credited his student-centric approach for the institution's development.
He said the 500-bed Brigadier Rajinder Singh MVC Boys' Hostel had been equipped with necessary facilities within a year and urged students to prepare themselves for the challenges emerging from rapid technological advancement.
Dean Students' Welfare Prof Ritu Bakshi encouraged students to identify and develop their creative potential. She urged them to join various university clubs and make sincere efforts to enhance their skills and creativity.
Chief Warden of University Hostels Prof Rakesh Kumar Jha advised students to maintain discipline in the hostel and pursue their studies with dedication.
He also encouraged them to actively participate in the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and contribute to the progress of the university and society.
