Police chief reviews security arrangements for Kaunsarnag Yatra

SRINAGAR, Aug 20: Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday reviewed security arrangements for the forthcoming Kaunsarnag Yatra at a meeting here, officials said.
The meeting was attended by senior police and army officers, and focused on reviewing existing arrangements and strengthening the security framework for the annual pilgrimage, they said.
Officers briefed Prabhat on the security arrangements and preparedness. The police chief stressed the need for enhanced coordination among all concerned agencies to ensure comprehensive security and effective management of the yatra, a police spokesperson said.
The DGP directed the officers to maintain high levels of preparedness, strengthen security arrangements along the yatra routes, and ensure close coordination and seamless communication among all stakeholders, he said.
Prabhat underscored that the safety and security of pilgrims remains a top priority and called for all necessary security measures to facilitate the peaceful and smooth conduct of the yatra.
The meeting concluded with directions to all concerned officers to ensure meticulous planning, close coordination, and effective implementation of the security arrangements, the spokesman said.
