Jammu, Aug 29: A large number of Gen-Z youth from across Jammu district joined the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) under the leadership of its J&K State President Ajay Lakhotra, in the presence of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Working President Raman Bhalla.
The joining programme was attended by former MLC and office in-charge Ved Mahajan and PCC Secretary Jatinder Singh Chib. DCC leaders Jaidev Singh Charak and Gagan Bral were also present and welcomed the new entrants into the organisation. Addressing the gathering, Bhalla said the growing participation of Gen-Z youth in NSUI reflected increasing political awareness among the younger generation.
He said young people were increasingly concerned about education, employment, career opportunities and their future, adding that the Congress and Rahul Gandhi had raised issues concerning students and youth and provided them a platform to voice their concerns democratically.
Ved Mahajan congratulated the newly inducted members and urged them to work dedicatedly for students and remain connected with their concerns at the grassroots level.
Lakhotra said the "Chhatron Ki Goonj" campaign had begun and claimed that the movement would continue to grow. He said the younger generation was joining NSUI inspired by what he described as Rahul Gandhi's pro-youth policies and focus on student issues.
