Springdales School Jammu students visit IIM Jammu for academic exposure

JAMMU, Sep 8: A group of 55 students of Classes VII to X from Springdales School, Rajouri Lines, Jammu, visited the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu on Tuesday as part of an academic exposure and campus tour.
The visit provided the students an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the academic environment, facilities and institutional ecosystem of one of the country's premier management institutions.
The students were accompanied by teachers Ms Shivani Kotwal, Ms Surekha Sharma, Ms Meenakshi Soni and Ms Deepanti Sharma.
During the visit, the students explored various facilities on the IIM Jammu campus, including the Clock Tower, Main Reception Area, Mand-apam Auditorium, Veda-nta MDP Block, smart classrooms, Nalanda Libr-ary, Rangmanch Amphi-theatre and Jalpan Ken-dra. They also viewed a detailed campusscale mo-del showcasing the institute's infrastructure and future expansion plans.
At the Main Reception Area, the students were introduced to the institutional journey of IIM Jammu through a picture-based presentation. An audio-visual presentation also provided them an overview of the institute's growth, academic achievements, campus ecosystem and contribution towards nation-building.
At the Vedanta MDP Centre, the students were briefed about the Executive Education and Consultancy Division and its training and development initiatives.
The interaction also covered IIM Jammu's academic programmes, Centres of Excellence, innovation and research initiatives and opportunities in management education.
At the Nalanda Library, the students explored digital resources, reading spaces and Bloomberg Terminals, gaining an insight into the technology-enabled learning environment at the institute.
A key highlight of the visit was an interaction with Ms Anvita Gottumukkal, a third-year IPM student at IIM Jammu, who shared her experiences of student life, academics, clubs and committees, case-based learning and opportunities available on the campus.
