PIB Jammu holds media interaction ahead of journalists’ exposure tour

JAMMU, Sep 11: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Jammu, organised an interaction with media representatives here on Thursday as part of preparations for the forthcoming journalists' exposure tour to Bhopal and Indore.
The interaction aimed to brief participating journalists about the tour and provide guidance on professional journalism, including news gathering, information verification, interaction with government officials and stakeholders, and developing news stories during field visits.
Director, PIB Jammu, Neha Jalali, IIS, and Zakir Malik, IIS, interacted with the media representatives and shared guidance on professional engagement with officials, understanding government initiatives and gathering information from reliable sources.
The officials stressed the importance of asking relevant questions, maintaining journalistic objectivity, verifying facts before publication and presenting information accurately and responsibly.
Journalists were encouraged to make effective use of the exposure tour to gain a better understanding of ground-level developments and broaden their professional perspective. The interaction was attended by Sarfaraz Ahmed Ganai, Editor-in-Chief of Daily Sada-e-Kohastan, Editor of Refugee Message, correspondents of Daily Excelsior and INS, besides other members of the media fraternity. The forthcoming visit to Bhopal and Indore will provide participating journalists an opportunity to interact with officials, visit important institutions and gain first-hand knowledge of developments and initiatives at the field level.
The journalists appreciated the initiative and the guidance provided by PIB Jammu.
