JAMMU, Sep 15: Senior National Conference lead-er and Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chou-dhary on Tuesday accused the Leader of Opposition of failing the people of Paddar-Nagseni Assembly constituency in the name of development, alleging that several parts of the constituency continue to lack basic infrastructure.
Addressing workers' meetings at Machail, Gulabgarh and Kishtwar in Kishtwar district, chaired by JKNC District President Tanveer Ahmed Kichloo, Choudhary questioned why the road connecting Gulabgarh with Maa Machail had not been completed despite nearly 12 years.
He also questioned the status of rehabilitation for families who lost their members in the Chisoti cloudburst tragedy, asking why the affected families had not yet been provided proper houses and rehabilitation support.
Choudhary further alleged that the benefits of power projects under construction in the constituency had not reached large sections of the local population and sought greater transparency and equitable development.
He said the people of Paddar-Nagseni deserved accountability and concrete development rather than political rhetoric and repeated assurances.
Addressing the gatherings, JKNC Jammu Provincial President and advocate Rattan Lal Gupta alleged that the BJP was misleading people through programmes such as the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan and other outreach initiatives, which he claimed were being used more for political publicity than addressing public issues.
Gupta said Paddar-Nagseni remained neglected in terms of roads, rehabilitation, public infrastructure and other basic necessities.
He said the National Conference would continue to raise the concerns of the people and seek equitable development across Jammu and Kashmir.
