PSPS GCW Gandhi Nagar concludes four day NSS Foundation Day programme

Jammu, Sep 29: NSS Unit-I of PSPS Gover-nment College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, concluded a four-day programme to commemorate NSS Foundation Day 2026, with a series of activities focusing on community service, health awareness, cleanliness and youth empowerment.
The programme was organised under the patronage of Principal Dr Kulvinder Kour and was conducted in keeping with the NSS motto, "Not Me But You".
The first day featured a mass cleanliness drive across the college campus. On the second day, NSS volunteers organised a community outreach programme at Government Middle School, Channi Himmat, focusing on health and hygiene among adolescent girls. The volunteers sensitised the students about personal hygiene and distributed eatables and stationery items.
The third day featured a health awareness programme titled "My Health, My Pride" under the 100 Days Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. A general health check-up was organised, followed by expert sessions by Dr Archana Bhat and Dr Zenuka, who spoke about healthy nutrition, lifestyle choices and the impact of addiction on health.
The valedictory programme was attended by Dr Hema Gandotra, NSS Programme Coordinator, University of Jammu, as the chief guest. The proceedings began with a welcome address by Dr Suraj Mohani Jamwal, NSS Programme Officer, Unit-I, followed by ceremonial lighting of the lamp and felicitation of the chief guest. A documentary showcasing the activities of the NSS unit was screened, followed by Dogri, Bollywood and Punjabi cultural performances by NSS volunteers.
Dr Hema Gandotra delivered an interactive session on the objectives, activities, responsibilities and benefits of joining NSS and encouraged students to actively participate in voluntary community service.
Senior NSS volunteers were also felicitated in recognition of their dedication and participation.
