CRPF DG visits Jammu sector, reviews operational preparedness

JAMMU, Oct 3: CRPF Director General G P Singh visited the Jammu sector and reviewed the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness of troops deployed on the ground, officials said on Saturday.
The CRPF chief visited Group Centre Bantalab in Jammu and the headquarters of the 187th Battalion in Udhampur district and was briefed by senior officers on the security scenario, deployments, and ongoing operations, they said.
They said the top officer emphasised continued vigilance, operational readiness, and close coordination with other security agencies to effectively address emerging security challenges.
He also interacted with personnel and appreciated their commitment and professionalism.
"During his tour of Jammu & Kashmir, DG, CRPF, visited GC (Group Centre) Bantalab, Jammu, where he inspected the multipurpose hall site alongside Special DG, J&K Zone, and Inspector General Jammu Sector. DG interacted with key stakeholders and directed them to expedite project execution for timely completion," CRPF said in a post on X.
It said the multi-purpose hall, on completion, would address the long-standing requirement of the serving and retired officers and personnel posted and settled at Jammu.
In another post, the CRPF said the DG visited 187 Battalion in Udhampur.
"After being presented a Guard of Honour at the Quarter Guard, he reviewed key unit facilities and interacted with personnel and key stakeholders to assess operational preparedness," the CRPF said.
It said the officer also felicitated awardees and commended the troops for their unwavering dedication during the annual Amarnath Yatra duty in an investiture ceremony cum 'Samvad' session with troops.
The CRPF chief emphasised mental and physical fitness, probity, and professionalism during his address to troops. Singh later joined the personnel over high tea for an informal interaction, the post read.
